Police and National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) agents raided the Midas Hotel in Pasay City on Friday morning in an attempt to serve arrest warrants against several board members of Sunwest Corporation, RH Edniel Parrosa reports.

The executives are wanted in connection with alleged irregularities involving flood control projects in Oriental Mindoro.

According to authorities three of the sought-after board members—Consuelto Dayto Aldon, Anthony Li Ngo, and Noel Yap Cao—were believed to be hiding in the hotel, reportedly posing as employees to avoid detection.

After a one-hour search of the 10-story building, authorities were unable to locate the suspects. CIDG NCR Director Police Lieutenant Colonel John Guiagui suggested that the board members may have been tipped off about the operation.

The Midas Hotel is reportedly owned by former Congressman Zaldy Co who is among the 16 individuals issued arrest warrants by the Sandiganbayan in this case, nine have already been apprehended and presented before the anti-graft court, while seven remain at large.

Authorities continue their efforts to locate and arrest the remaining Sunwest executives.
