The Mandaluyong City Police are currently coordinating with the Philippine National Police - Firearms and Explosives Office (PNP-FEO) to determine whether the firearm used by a retired general in threatening a driver is licensed, according to a Monday report by RH 5 Val Gonzales.

Mandaluyong City Police Chief PCol. Reynan Patam said they will be requesting the firearm records under the retired Philippine Navy general’s name from the PNP-FEO.

Patam said police have spoken to the former soldier and sent him a letter of invitation, so that he may give an account for the incident.

“Nagsulat na po kami, letter of invitation, para po humarap siya dito sa ating police station. Anytime naman po, welcome siya dito para makapagbigay ng kanyang pahayag,” Patam said in an interview.

However, the district police chief said it was crucial for the driver involved in the incident to file a formal complaint at their station.

“Nag-coordinate kami doon sa original uploader po ng video na mai-connect kami doon sa nasabing driver para makapagsampa po ng karampatang reklamo. Ia-assist po namin ‘yung driver. Sa ngayon po, wala pa po kaming makuha na pangalan nung ating driver na nasa video,” Patam said.

Based on the information available to the Mandaluyong City PNP, the incident occurred on June 17 at Barangay Addition Hills. According to the social media post of veteran broadcaster Ramon Tulfo, the suspect was identified as retired Rear Admiral Ramon Punzalan.

In the viral video, Punzalan can be seen telling the driver to leave as the latter was allegedly taking a video while parked by his house. He can be heard cursing while holding his gun.
