Fans of Pokémon will soon get the chance to step into the world of their favorite pocket monsters as a special anniversary run heads to the Philippines in October.
Organizers announced that “Pokémon RUN 30: The Philippines Edition” will be held Oct. 3–4, 2026, at the SM Mall of Asia, as part of a wider celebration marking the franchise’s 30th anniversary across seven regions in Asia.
Billed as an immersive fun run, the event blends fitness with interactive storytelling, allowing participants to experience a Pokémon-inspired journey from start to finish.
Runners will begin by choosing their own partner Pokémon at the starting line before heading into a roughly 5-kilometer course designed for all ages and fitness levels.
Along the way, participants will encounter themed zones, including a “Pokémon Gym” featuring playful obstacles meant to test endurance and spirit.
Hydration stops styled as Pokémon Centers will provide rest areas, while runners can collect stickers and interact with different Pokémon characters throughout the route. By the finish line, participants will see their chosen partner “evolve,” mirroring the progression mechanic central to the franchise.
The event is open to casual runners, enthusiasts, families and children, with registration details and participation fees to be announced. Each registered runner will receive a commemorative Pokémon RUN 30 kit.
Beyond the race, a Pokémon Festival Zone will be open to the public free of charge, offering a space for fans to celebrate the franchise’s past, present and future. The area will feature themed activities and exclusive merchandise available for purchase.
Organizers said the event aims to bring together longtime fans and newcomers alike, offering a shared experience that goes beyond the traditional run.
“Whether you are crossing the finish line or just stopping by to enjoy the festivities, there’s a place for every fan to join the party,” the organizers said.
First launched in 1996, Pokémon has grown into one of the world’s most recognizable entertainment franchises, spanning video games, television, films and merchandise, and continues to attract generations of fans worldwide.
