The Philippine National Police (PNP) said it will not spare anyone, even if their own personnel are implicated in the case of the 34 missing cockfighting enthusiasts, or sabungeros.
According to RH reporter Edniel Parrosa, the statement was made by PNP spokesperson Police Brigadier General Jean Fajardo following the claims made by a whistleblower, alias "Totoy," alleging that around 20 police officers were involved in the abduction and killing of the victims who have been missing since 2021.
According to Fajardo, the PNP is now waiting for the full disclosure of the witness so they can determine the appropriate assistance to provide.
The PNP is also ready to provide investigative assistance should the Department of Justice require it.
As of now, Camp Crame has yet to establish direct communication with the witness, according to Fajardo's text message to DZRH News.
The PNP Maritime Group has also not received any request to assist in the reported search for bodies that may have been dumped in Taal Lake in Batangas.
On the military side, the Philippine Navy has expressed readiness to assist in the ongoing investigation.
