The Philippine National Police (PNP) is validating former Congressman Elizaldy “Zaldy” Co’s arrest and detention in Prague, as reported on Thursday, April 16, said PNP Chief Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr.

“The PNP is actively verifying this development through official channels and coordination with concerned agencies and international law enforcement partners,” Nartatez said in a statement sent to reporters.

He said the police are ready to assist in all necessary processes, including Co’s possible repatriation, once the report is verified.

President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. announced earlier this evening that Co was arrested in Prague, Czech Republic, after purportedly entering the country without proper documentation.
