The Philippine National Police (PNP) has officially turned over 95 boxes of documents related to the ongoing flood control controversy to the Independent Commission for Infrastructure (ICI) on Monday, November 24.
According to RH Jecelle Ricafort, the documents, collected from field validation operations covering projects from Regions 1 to 9, include crucial records concerning the construction of flood mitigation structures by Alpha and Omega Gen. Contractor and Development Corp., St. Timothy Construction, and Sunwest Inc. in Zamboanga City.
Additional boxes of evidence were sourced from the Sorsogon 1st District Engineering Office, Manila, Negros Oriental, Southern Leyte, and other locations across the country.
A police truck carrying the boxes arrived at the ICI headquarters at around noon, and it took nearly two hours to unload the evidence due to the sheer volume.
Meanwhile, ICI Chairman Andres Reyes expressed optimism over the recent arrests and voluntary surrenders linked to the flood control scandal. In a brief statement to the media, he described the developments as “good news” for the Filipino people.
