The Philippine National Police (PNP) has taken custody of four boxes of electronic devices belonging to Thomas Markle, the estranged father of Meghan Markle, as authorities investigate allegations of child exploitation linked to his visit to Cebu.

PNP spokesperson Police Col. Allen Rae Co said Markle’s son voluntarily surrendered the devices to the PNP Women and Children Protection Center.

Authorities are in the process of seeking a warrant to examine computer data to determine the contents of the devices, Co said.

The investigation follows an earlier announcement by authorities that they would look into the foreign national over suspected involvement in child exploitation during his stay in Cebu.

Markle, 82, arrived in the Philippines in January 2026 but returned to the United States in May to seek medical treatment.

Meghan Markle is married to Prince Harry, the younger son of King Charles III of Britain.

Authorities have yet to disclose further details about the investigation.
