The Philippine National Police (PNP) has reinforced its commitment to strict accountability, sending a clear message that misconduct within its ranks will not be tolerated. Under Chief PNP PGen. Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., the organization has adopted a zero-tolerance policy, ensuring that every violation of law or regulation is met with appropriate disciplinary action.
Since PGen. Nartatez assumed office, 770 administrative cases have been resolved, resulting in 278 dismissals of police officers and non-uniformed personnel, 44 demotions, and 163 suspensions. Additional penalties included 504 restrictions and 266 instances of withholding privileges. In January 2026 alone, 180 personnel faced disciplinary action, including 53 dismissals, 88 suspensions, and 27 reprimands.
PGen. Nartatez emphasized that accountability is foundational to public trust: “Every act of wrongdoing within the PNP is taken seriously. We are not merely enforcing rules, we are building a culture of integrity, discipline, and service.” He assured that investigations are conducted with speed, transparency, and decisiveness.
