The Philippine National Police (PNP) will remain on heightened alert to prepare for the holiday season, PNP Acting Chief PLtGen. Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr. said on Monday, December 1.
Although the PNP has lowered its nationwide alert status from “full alert” in response to the Trillion Peso March 2.0, they will maintain tightened security measures, according to RH 52 Edniel Parrosa.
Nartatez has tasked commanders stationed in urban areas and tourist spots to implement appropriate security measures and report any possible adjustments.
In addition, the national police is coordinating with the Land Transportation Office (LTO) and Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) for the expected influx of passengers in transportation terminals.
Included among the events police are readying for is the Feast of the Black Nazarene in January and the People Power Revolution Anniversary in February.
