The Philippine National Police–Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (PNP-CIDG) has requested the issuance of an Interpol red notice against businessman and gaming tycoon Charlie “Atong” Ang to prevent him from fleeing the country.

CIDG Director PMAJ GEN Robert Alexander A. Morico II said the move was taken as part of intensified efforts to track Ang, who is wanted for kidnapping with homicide in connection with the case of the missing sabungeros. Despite the development, Morico reiterated that authorities believe Ang remains inside the Philippines.

Morico also announced that the PNP has revoked Ang’s license to own and possess firearms. Six firearms registered under his name have been ordered surrendered through his lawyers to the PNP Firearms and Explosives Office.

Authorities continue to consider Ang a dangerous individual, citing the seriousness of the charges and concerns over his security detail, which officials said may include former law enforcement agents.

The PNP said coordination with local and international partners remains ongoing as efforts continue to locate and arrest Ang.
