The Philippine National Police (PNP) announced on Thursday, March 26, that investigators have ruled out foul play in the death of 15-year-old Isabelle Sophia Tablate, whose body was discovered earlier this week inside a factory.

The update follows a forensic and backtrack investigation by the Pasig City Police after the teenager was reported missing for five days.

In a report by Edniel Parossa, authorities said evidence suggests the victim took her own life. Police tracked the movements of Tablate prior to her disappearance and confirmed that she personally purchased a length of white nylon rope from a hardware store in Marikina City. This material was later found at the scene.

Officials stated that no particular foul play was found, citing the purchase of the materials and the lack of struggle or third-party involvement at the site where she was found.

The case drew significant public attention after the victim’s family launched a search last week. On March 18, Tablate was officially reported missing. After a five-day search, operatives from the Pasig City Police Station discovered her body inside a factory, several kilometers away from her residence.

Pasig City Police Chief PCOL Hendrix B. Mangaldan confirmed that the family positively identified the remains following the discovery.

While the police have closed the angle of external violence, the incident has sparked renewed discussions on social media regarding youth welfare and mental health support.
