The Philippine National Police (PNP) reported a peaceful and orderly celebration of the Christmas Eve Mass on December 24, following the successful security coverage of the nine-day Simbang Gabi held from December 16 to 24.
According to PNP Acting Chief PLTGEN Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., no untoward incidents were recorded during the religious activities, crediting the cooperation of the public and the strong police presence in churches, transport hubs, and key areas.
Nartatez said police personnel remained on duty throughout the holidays to ensure public safety, while thanking church leaders, local government units, volunteers, and citizens for their support.
The PNP assured continued heightened security operations through Christmas Day and the New Year celebrations, emphasizing its commitment to public safety under the “Bagong PNP para sa Bagong Pilipinas” campaign.
