The Philippine National Police (PNP) has implemented a fresh round of leadership changes, appointing PBGen. Randulf Tuaño as the new chief of the Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6) or Western Visayas, effective Friday, May 22.

The reassignment was contained in a special order approved by PNP chief Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr.

Tuaño, who previously served as the PNP’s national spokesman and chief of the Public Information Office, replaces Josefino Ligan, who has been transferred to the Directorate for Operations.

Meanwhile, PCol. Allen Rae Co, formerly the deputy regional director of Police Regional Office 2, has been designated to take over Tuaño’s post at the Office of the Chief, PNP. It remains unclear whether Co will also assume the role of chief public information officer.

The reshuffle also covers several other senior officials in key command positions. PBGen. Arnold Ardiente has been moved from PRO-12 to the Directorate for Investigation, while PBGen. Edwin Balles has been reassigned from the Directorate for Investigation to the Anti-Kidnapping Group.

In addition, PBGen. Alan Manibog has been transferred from the Directorate for Operations to PRO-12, and PCol. Reynaldo Pasiwen from the Civil Security Group to the Directorate for Investigation.
