Senators Robin Padilla and Ronald 'Bato' dela Rosa were seen leaving the Senate complex aboard a vehicle several hours after the shooting incident, according to the Philippine National Police (PNP).

In a timeline presented during a Palace press briefing on Tuesday, PNP Chief Gen. Melencio Nartatez Jr. showed that at around 2:30 a.m. on May 14, a white Toyota Fortuner was recorded exiting the Senate premises.

Footage indicated that Padilla and dela Rosa were among those who approached and boarded the vehicle.

“Makita natin doon ang Senator Bato and Senator Padilla going to the vehicle na Fortuner,” Nartatez said, adding that records show the vehicle is owned by Padilla.

Interior Secretary Jonvic Remulla also confirmed the identification of the vehicle, saying, “The vehicle leaving is a Fortuner that belongs to Senator Robinhood Padilla,” and presented an image of dela Rosa during a Palace presscon. The photo was taken amid the chaos following the shooting.

Authorities said the movements occurred hours after a shooting incident inside the Senate complex on May 13 that prompted heightened security and the suspension of sessions until May 18.

Officials have not disclosed details about where the vehicle went after leaving the premises or whether other individuals were inside.

Padilla later attended the Senate session on May 18, when lawmakers convened as an impeachment court for proceedings related to Vice President Sara Duterte.

Speaking to reporters, Padilla said dela Rosa remains in the Philippines but that he does not know his colleague’s exact whereabouts.

Meanwhile, National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) Director Melvin Matibag said Padilla is now considered a “person of interest” in the departure of dela Rosa from the Senate complex following the incident.

Authorities have yet to announce any charges or confirm whether the senators’ actions are linked to the shooting. The investigation remains ongoing.
