The Philippine National Police (PNP) announced that it is on full alert as Metro Manila prepares for the three-day national assemblies organized by Iglesia ni Cristo, set to begin tomorrow, November 16.

In a statement issued Saturday, Acting PNP Chief PLTGEN Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr. assured the public that the police force is fully prepared to ensure the safety and security of all participants, commuters, and residents.

“The entire PNP has been on full alert since 5:00 PM yesterday, November 14. Our units are fully staffed, fully equipped, and fully ready,” Nartatez said. “Police personnel are strategically positioned across Metro Manila, supported by units nationwide, to keep all key areas secure.”

The PNP has activated a comprehensive security plan covering ground operations, traffic management, intelligence monitoring, emergency response, and maritime patrols. Over 500 personnel from the National Police District (NPD) are expected to be deployed across multiple rally locations in Manila.

“We fully respect the public’s right to peaceful assembly,” Nartatez added, urging attendees and residents to cooperate with authorities and observe safety reminders. “Our officers are committed to keeping these gatherings peaceful, orderly, and safe for everyone.”

Meanwhile, the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) released a statement Friday underscoring its commitment to constitutional order and non-partisanship. Chief of Staff Gen. Romeo S. Brawner Jr. emphasized that the military will not interfere in the rallies and will focus on ensuring public safety and upholding democratic principles.

“With full conviction, I assure the public that the armed forces will not engage in any action that violates the Constitution,” Brawner said. “The AFP will work closely with law enforcement authorities to guarantee that these gatherings remain orderly, safe, and consistent with the law.”

The AFP also called on organizers and participants to maintain peaceful conduct and to prevent infiltration by elements seeking to exploit the events for unlawful purposes.

As the nation anticipates the rallies, both the PNP and AFP stressed the importance of public cooperation, discipline, and unity in ensuring that the assemblies proceed peacefully.
