The National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) will deploy 13,084 police personnel across Metro Manila to ensure a safe and orderly observance of Undas on November 1 (All Saints' Day) and November 2 (All Souls' Day).
In a statement Monday, the NCRPO said its entire force would be placed on full alert starting at 12:01 a.m. on Oct. 30.
"Our deployment is built for one purpose: that every family may honor their departed in peace and safety. NCRPO remains vigilant, visible, and ready to serve throughout the observance,” NCRPO Officer-in-Charge PBGEN Christopher Abrahano said.
Police will secure cemeteries, memorial parks, columbaria, bus terminals, seaports, airports and major roads expected to draw large crowds.
The NCRPO will also intensify security checks, patrols, intelligence monitoring and K-9 inspections to prevent crimes and address security threats.
Furthermore, it will coordinate with local government units, the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority and disaster response offices to ensure a swift response to emergencies.
The NCRPO urged the public to plan trips ahead, secure personal belongings and avoid bringing prohibited items, including firearms, sharp objects and flammable materials, into cemeteries and transport hubs.
The public may report suspicious activities and emergencies to police assistance desks or through the Unified 911 hotline.
