The Police Regional Office 8 (PRO-8) is investigating a reported incident involving an alleged drinking session by police personnel inside a police station in Eastern Samar, PRO-8 Director PBGen Jason L. Capoy said.
“PRO 8 reiterates that the Philippine National Police has a clear policy strictly prohibiting the consumption of alcoholic beverages while on duty and within police premises, as provided under existing PNP rules and regulations,” Capoy said.
An immediate investigation is underway to verify the circumstances surrounding the incident and determine the accountability of the personnel involved.
“Should the allegations be proven true, appropriate administrative and disciplinary actions will be imposed in accordance with existing laws and PNP policies,” the statement added.
PRO-8 emphasized that it will not tolerate any form of misconduct committed by its personnel. Capoy also expressed appreciation to concerned citizens who reported the infraction, noting that “such reports help strengthen transparency and accountability within the organization.”
