The Philippine National Police (PNP) currently have no information as to the whereabouts of Senator Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa since talks of an arrest warrant against him arose.
According to Acting PNP Chief PLtGen. Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr., his men have not confirmed Ombudsman Jesus Crispin Remulla’s recent claim that dela Rosa has been spotted in Pampanga, reported RH 52 Edniel Parrosa.
In an interview in Camp Crame, Nartatez explained that the police have no reason to begin a manhunt for the senator as an official warrant of arrest has yet to be released.
Earlier, Remulla told DZRH that the International Criminal Court (ICC) in The Hague, Netherlands, has issued an arrest warrant for the lawmaker, who led the PNP during the peak of former President Rodrigo Duterte’s bloody War on Drugs.
Although the ICC has yet to speak on the matter, dela Rosa has skipped all Senate sessions since November.
Nartatez affirmed that his men are ready to fulfill their mandate.
