Personnel from the Philippine National Police-Explosive Ordnance Disposal (PNP-EOD) unit, along with K-9 dogs, were seen conducting inspections around the Senate building as part of a routine security operation.
According to personnel from the Office of the Sergeant-at-Arms (OSAA), the activity was only a regular inspection.
Using explosive detection dogs, members of the PNP-EOD unit inspected different areas of the Senate building, including portions of the second floor where the May 13 shooting incident occurred.
Authorities said the operation was part of standard security procedures to ensure the safety of the premises.
Previously, K-9 units from the Philippine Air Force were more commonly seen conducting inspections within the Senate complex.
