The Philippine National Police (PNP) and the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) on Tuesday refuted rumors claiming that Senator Ronald “Bato” Dela Rosa has been arrested.
In a report by RH 52 Edniel Parrosa, DILG Secretary Jonvic Remulla said through a Viber message that the Department has no information regarding the fugitive senator’s rumored capture.
“We have no information to that effect,” Remulla said.
PNP Chief PGen. Jose Melencio Nartatez likewise denied that an arrest had been made.
“Nega,” he told DZRH.
National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) Director Atty. Melvin Matibag assured that manhunt operations for Dela Rosa remain ongoing.
It can be recalled that the International Criminal Court (ICC) in The Hague, Netherlands, has issued an arrest warrant for the senator in connection with his supposed role in former President Rodrigo Duterte’s notorious war on drugs.
