The Parañaque Integrated Terminal Exchange (PITX) management recorded a total of 3.2 million passengers who passed through the terminal during the recent holiday season.
According to PITX Senior Corporate Affairs Officer Kolyn Calbasa, December 23 saw a significant surge in travelers, with passenger numbers exceeding 231,000, as reported by RH Jecelle Ricafort.
More than 182,000 passengers passed through the terminal on Sunday, January 4, while nearly 20,000 were already recorded as of 6:00 a.m. today.
Some bus companies reported that trips from the Bicol region remain fully booked. However, additional buses have been deployed to accommodate walk-in passengers.
Passenger traffic remains heavy at PITX, with travelers both heading back to Metro Manila and returning to their home provinces following the holiday break.
From Friday, January 2, through today, PITX expects the highest volume of returning travelers, as many Filipinos who went on holiday are heading back to Metro Manila ahead of the resumption of work for most employees this Monday.
