The Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) has arrested seven individuals, including a Filipino rapper, following a police operation against the alleged illegal possession of firearms and drugs in Quezon City on early Tuesday.

In a statement, CIDG said operatives implemented a search warrant at around 12:20 a.m. on April 14, 2026, in Barangay Laging Handa, Diliman, resulting in the arrest of seven suspects and the seizure of a 9mm pistol with ammunition.

The operation was carried out under "Oplan Paglalansag Omega," aligned with the directive of Philippine National Police (PNP) Chief Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr. to intensify the nationwide campaign against loose firearms.

Authorities identified the suspects as “Abi, Ryan, Mick, Roger, Leon, John," and “Shee,” all adults. Police also reportedly recovered suspected illegal drugs, including liquid marijuana, suspected cocaine, and drug paraphernalia during the raid.

CIDG Director Robert A. Morico II commended the NCR field unit for the successful operation, reiterating the agency’s drive against illegal firearms and drug-related activities.

According to reports from other news outlets, the arrested rapper was identified as Hev Abi, although authorities have not yet officially confirmed his identity pending further verification.

“The CIDG remains resolute in enforcing the law and unyielding in its fight against loose firearms and criminal groups,” the agency said.
