A Pikachu plushie has joined French astronaut Sophie Adenot on a tour of the International Space Station (ISS), giving Pokémon fans a glimpse of life aboard the orbiting laboratory as part of a collaboration between the European Space Agency (ESA) and the popular Japanese franchise.

In a video shared by the ESA, Adenot showed various parts of the space station while bringing along the iconic yellow Pokémon character.

The tour featured the ISS's water recycling system, which recovers approximately 98% of the water used aboard the station, as well as a freezer used to store samples for scientific experiments and research.

The ESA said the video was released as part of its celebration of World Space Week 2026, which began on October 4 and runs through October 10.

According to the agency, the Astronaut Pikachu plushie spent 67 days in space with Adenot.

The collaboration also extends to Pokémon-themed exhibitions at science museums across Europe, where visitors can meet the plushie that traveled to space.

The initiative aims to bring space exploration closer to the public by combining scientific discovery with the global popularity of Pokémon.
