

Kanlaon Volcano emitted ash plumes reaching up to 300 meters into the sky on Friday morning, June 12, 2026, according to state volcanologists.
The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) reported renewed ash emissions from the volcano, with activity recorded at 8:28 a.m.
The eruption produced grayish plumes that rose above the crater before drifting northwest.
PHIVOLCS also released sped-up camera footage captured by the Kanlaon Volcano Observatory–Canlaon City (KVO-CC), showing the ash activity as it occurred.
“This event generated grayish plumes that rose 300 meters above the crater before drifting northwest, as captured by the IP camera at Kanlaon Volcano Observatory–Canlaon City (KVO-CC),” it said.
Kanlaon Volcano remains under Alert Level 2, indicating a moderate level of volcanic unrest.
