The Philippines has again secured the 73rd spot in the global passport ranking this year, jumping from the 79th spot in 2025.
London-based Henley Passport Index released its global passport ranking for 2026 on January 9, based on exclusive data from the International Air Transport Authority (IATA). The index includes 199 passports and 227 travel destinations.
This year, Asian countries topped the passport index’s ranking, with Singapore securing first place, while Japan and South Korea placed second.
The Philippines shares the same ranking as Mongolia. Both countries currently have a Visa-free score of 64. This is two numbers less than the 2024 data, when the Philippines had access to 67 Visa-free destinations, and secured the same spot.
Meanwhile, five countries secured the third spot, namely: Denmark, Luxembourg, Spain, Sweden, and Switzerland.
The Henley Passport Index is updated monthly and is used as the standard reference tool for global citizens and sovereign states when assessing where a passport ranks on the global mobility spectrum, its website indicated.
