The Philippines secured its second victory in Women's Baseball World Cup history, defeating Great Britain, 6-2, on Day 2 of the WBSC/RAXUS Women's Baseball World Cup Group Tainan 2026.

The Filipinas wasted little time taking control, erupting for four runs in the opening inning behind hits from Richelle Toledo, Veronica Velasco, Ivy Capistrano and Shyla Celis.

The victory came just hours after the Philippines recorded its first-ever Women's Baseball World Cup win, a 6-0 shutout of Cuba.

Martine Francisco played a key role in the Philippines' historic double victory and was named the Player of the Day for Day 2 of the tournament.

The 6-2 victory over Great Britain gave the Philippines its second win in World Cup history and kept its bid for a place in the World Cup Finals alive.

The Philippines will face host Chinese Taipei and Venezuela on Thursday at the same venue, with the Filipinas looking to sustain their momentum in the remainder of the group stage.
