The Philippine Heart Center (PHC) has marked a new milestone in cardiovascular care after successfully performing its first robotic-assisted surgical procedure.

A middle-aged male service patient underwent a mitral valve replacement using the Da Vinci Xi Robotic Surgical System, a state-of-the-art technology designed to assist surgeons in performing minimally invasive procedures with enhanced precision.

PHC described the successful operation as a significant step in its continuing efforts to advance cardiovascular treatment and introduce modern medical technologies to Filipino patients.

The institution said the milestone also reflects its commitment to making world-class healthcare services more accessible, particularly to patients who rely on government healthcare facilities.

According to PHC, innovation goes beyond acquiring advanced technology, emphasizing that such developments should ultimately improve patient care and help save lives.

The Philippine Heart Center said it will continue to strengthen its capabilities and adopt new medical technologies as part of its mission to provide quality cardiovascular care to Filipinos.
