Philippine Government Electronic Procurement System (PhilGEPS) Division Chief Rendell Sopeña took his oath as the prosecution’s new witness during Day 28 of Vice President Sara Duterte’s impeachment trial on Tuesday.

Sopeña is set to testify in connection with Article II of the impeachment complaint, which concerns alleged unexplained wealth.

The prosecution presented Sopeña after the Senate impeachment court resumed proceedings following the lunch break.

The PhilGEPS official’s testimony is expected to cover government procurement records relevant to the prosecution’s allegations against Duterte.
