After a conflict over a technical glitch on the SEA Games 2025 website, the Philippines can finally celebrate four gold medals in practical shooting that were officially reinstated on Monday, December 16.
The victories belong to Erin Mattea Micor, Edcel John Gino, Genesis Pible, and Rolly Teczon, who all delivered stellar performances in the finals at the Eastern National Sports Complex in Chonburi, Thailand. Their precision ensured the medals remained firmly in Filipino hands.
POC President Abraham "Bambol" Tolentino personally looked into the matter after some media questioned whether the events were just “demo sports.” He expressed relief that the mistake was corrected and praised the athletes for their performance.
"I am glad the wrong was corrected at the right time, as we are looking for more golds. We needed this one," Tolentino said.
"Thanks to our shooters, they are the new heroes of our team. Ilabas pa ang galing, galing ng Pilipinas!” the POC President added.
Individually, Genesis Pible captured gold in the Women’s Production Optic Individual category, Edcel John Gino triumphed in the Men’s Production Individual, while Erin Mattea Micor dominated the Open Individual Women’s event, and Rolly Teczon spearheaded the team’s success.
