The Philippine Red Cross (PRC) said on Wednesday it will conduct full-scale operations for this year’s Traslacion in Manila, deploying a total of 1,261 personnel and volunteers.

PRC chairman Richard Gordon said personnel will be stationed at 17 first aid stations and 17 welfare desks along the Traslacion route, where the image of Jesus Nazareno will pass.

The PRC will also deploy 17 first aiders on wheels, 12 roving scooters, 19 ambulances on the ground, and 20 standby ambulances. Additional assets include two rescue boards and three rubber boats for water rescue.

A 50-bed emergency field hospital will be set up at the Kartilya ng Katipunan Monument beside Manila City Hall, supported by 60 medical personnel to respond to possible mass casualty incidents and minor to moderate cases.

Eight PRC chapters and eight PRC branches in the National Capital Region will also be on standby to assist during the annual procession.

The PRC advised the public to write their personal and medical details on a piece of paper for emergencies. Devotees may also download the PRC emergency information card.

For a safe and orderly Traslacion, devotees were urged to follow the reminders and directives of Quiapo Church and authorities.
