The Philippines delivered its strongest performance in ASEAN Para Games history after closing its campaign at the 13th ASEAN Para Games with a record medal haul as of 8:15 a.m., January 26, 2026.

Team Philippines accumulated 45 gold, 37 silver, and 52 bronze medals, marking the country’s best finish since the Games began in 2001 and surpassing all previous medal records in the regional meet for differently abled athletes.

Swimming and chess powered the historic run, with swimming accounting for 13 gold medals while chess added 12 golds, underscoring the depth and balance of the Philippine delegation across disciplines.

Despite the Philippines’ breakthrough, host Thailand reclaimed the overall championship after an 11-year drought, topping the medal table with 135 gold, 144 silver, and 114 bronze medals.

Meanwhile, Indonesia finished second with a near-identical tally of 135 gold, 143 silver, and 114 bronze medals.

The strong showing highlights the steady rise of Philippine para sports on the regional stage, as athletes not only exceeded expectations but also set a new benchmark for future ASEAN Para Games campaigns.
