A total of 9,854 Filipinos have been safely repatriated from the Middle East since tensions escalated in the region, the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) said.
In a statement, the DMW said the figure, as of May 20, 2026, includes 7,748 overseas Filipino workers (OFWs), 1,745 of their family members, and 361 stranded Filipinos.
The agency said the government continues its efforts to ensure the safe return of nationals affected by the crisis, in coordination with various agencies.
Alongside repatriation, assistance has also been extended to affected Filipinos. As of May 19, around 27,369 individuals have received financial aid, according to the DMW.
The agency added that a total of 60,571 onsite services have been delivered in the region. These include 21,120 instances of food assistance, 2,418 medical services, 7,191 transport assistance, and 2,473 shelter support.
The DMW, together with the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) and other government agencies, said it is continuing to implement repatriation and reintegration programs for returning Filipinos.
The efforts are being carried out under the directive of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. to ensure comprehensive support for repatriated OFWs and their families.
