MANILA, Philippines - Philippine Foreign Service Posts in China officially launched the eVisa for Chinese nationals who wish to travel to the Philippines for business or tourism, marking the occasion with a ribbon-cutting ceremony in the eight cities of Beijing, Chongqing, Fuzhou, Guangzhou, Hong Kong, Macau, Shanghai, and Xiamen, the Philippine Embassy in Beijing shared.
In a statement, Philippine Ambassador to China Jaime A. FlorCruz stated that the official launch of the eVisa is for the enhancement of client experience, digitalization of services and to stimulate the country’s tourism sector.
“The Philippine Embassy is happy to announce the official launch of the eVisa, jointly developed by the Department of Foreign Affairs and the Department of Information and Communications Technology, in line with the directive of the President to enhance client experience, digitize services, and further invigorate the country’s tourism sector,” said Ambassador FlorCruz in a statement.
It also provides additional convenience to travellers as applications can be submitted online 24/7, which is non-convertible and non-extendable, valid for a 14-day stay in the Philippines, with designated ports of entry at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) in Metro Manila and the Mactan-Cebu International Airport.
FlorCruz also believes that the launching of the eVisa is timely, as the country is continuously solidifying its reputation as a premier tourism destination.
“The Philippines continues to solidify its reputation as a premier tourism destination, having recently been bestowed the 'Island Charm Award' at the 2025 Beijing International Diving & Resort Travel Expo,” stated Ambassador FlorCruz.
He explained that the recognition reflects the distinctive appeal and status of the Philippines as a top destination for tourists.
“This honour, through the efforts of the Philippine Department of Tourism (DOT) in Beijing, highlights not only our remarkable dive sites but also our rich marine biodiversity,” he added.
