

The Philippine Men’s National Football Team secured a 3-1 victory over Timor-Leste in their AFC Asian Cup Qualifiers match, strengthening their hold on the top spot in Group A.
Timor-Leste struck first before halftime when Joao Rangel found the back of the net, giving his side a 1-0 lead at the break.
The Philippines responded quickly after the restart, with Jefferson Tabinas scoring the equalizer in the 46th minute off a corner kick. Bjorn Kristensen then gave the nationals the lead in the 70th minute from a pass by Jesper Nyholm, marking his 13th international goal and eighth in four qualifying matches.
Jarvey Gayoso sealed the win in added time after capitalizing on a defensive error by Timor-Leste, completing the 3-1 result.
Goalkeeper Kevin Mendoza made several key saves to keep the Philippines in control, while the defense held firm against Timor-Leste’s late attempts to close the gap.
With the victory, the Philippines remain at the top of Group A with 10 points, tied with Tajikistan but ahead on goal difference. The Azkals will next face the Maldives on November 18.
