Petro Gazz has announced that it will take a leave of absence from the Premier Volleyball League (PVL), pausing its competitive participation after seven successful years.

In an official statement, the team said the decision was made “with careful consideration,” noting that volleyball has always been at the core of Petro Gazz’s identity.

"Over the years, the team built a legacy of excellence—winning four PVL championships, developing national team-caliber athletes, and establishing itself as one of the league’s pillars," the statement read.

The team expressed sincere gratitude to its loyal fans, whose support has fueled its pursuit of excellence.

During this break, Petro Gazz will focus on nurturing the next generation of volleyball talent. As part of this initiative, the team will support the volleyball programs of Nxled and other PVL teams by recommending its players, coaches, and staff, guided by its winning culture and core values.

Earlier, the PVL confirmed that it has been officially notified of Petro Gazz’s decision, making the team’s players free agents.
