Authorities seized over ₱95 million worth of suspected shabu and arrested an alleged drug courier during a joint anti-illegal drug operation at Lipata Port early Saturday, March 14.
The interdiction was conducted around 4:45 a.m. by operatives from the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), Philippine National Police (PNP), Philippine Coast Guard (PCG), and Philippine Ports Authority (PPA) police units.
The 23-year-old high-value individual (HVI) was identified by the alias “Sultan,” a Maranao and resident of Taguig.
Operatives recovered 14 packages of suspected shabu weighing about 14 kilograms, with an estimated street value of ₱95.2 million. Also confiscated during the operation were a gray pickup vehicle, a spare tire, and a mobile phone believed to be linked to the transport and distribution of the illegal drugs.
The suspect is now under police custody while authorities prepare charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
