Minimum wage earners in the National Capital Region (NCR) began receiving higher pay on Saturday, July 25, 2026, as the ₱60 daily wage increase under Wage Order No. NCR-27 officially took effect, the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) announced.

With the implementation of the wage order, the daily minimum wage for private sector workers in Metro Manila has increased from ₱695 to ₱755.

DOLE said the wage hike is expected to benefit around 1.1 million minimum wage earners in the private sector across the NCR.

The department also confirmed that the wage adjustment will be implemented in two tranches. Following the ₱60 increase that took effect on July 25, an additional ₱25 daily wage increase will be implemented on January 20, 2027, raising the NCR minimum daily wage to ₱780.

The wage increase was approved under Wage Order No. NCR-27 by the Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board for the National Capital Region.

DOLE encouraged employers to comply with the new wage order, while workers were advised to coordinate with the department regarding any concerns over its implementation.

The agency said the wage adjustment aims to help minimum wage earners cope with rising living costs while promoting fair compensation for workers in the country's capital region.
