Minimum wage earners in Calabarzon will receive a daily wage increase of up to ₱45 starting Oct. 26, following the approval of a new wage order by the Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board (RTWPB) 4A.
The adjustment is equivalent to an additional ₱1,170 in monthly earnings, with more than 1.56 million minimum wage earners expected to benefit from the increase, the National Wages and Productivity Commission (NWPC) said.
Under Wage Order No. IVA-23, the amount of the daily wage adjustment will vary depending on the industry sector and the classification of the municipality.
The wage order was approved through a tripartite mechanism involving representatives from labor groups, employers and the government.
“The decision followed a thorough review and evaluation of the region’s existing socio-economic conditions, as mandated by Republic Act 6727, or the Wage Rationalization Act,” the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) said in a statement on Saturday.
DOLE, through its Regional Office 4A, will monitor the implementation of the new wage rates to ensure that establishments comply with the wage order.
