The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) has announced a ₱1-million reward for information leading to the arrest of Mon Salamat and six other suspects who remain at large in the killing of Police Staff Sergeant Renato Casauay Jr., whose body was found inside a septic tank in Bulacan last month.
DILG Secretary Jonvic Remulla announced during a press briefing at Camp Crame on Tuesday, stressing the government’s commitment to holding those responsible accountable.
According to the secretary, the initial police investigation identified the primary suspect as Julian Salamat, also known as Mon, who has remained at large since the incident. Remulla added that six more individuals are likewise being sought by authorities in connection with the killing.
Remulla underscored the importance of protecting members of the police force and ensuring justice for crimes committed against them.
