Filipino motorists may face higher fuel costs next week as gasoline, diesel, and kerosene prices are projected to climb, the Department of Energy (DOE) warned Friday, January 16.

According to the DOE-Oil Industry Management Bureau, industry estimates indicate the following increases:

  • Gasoline: around ₱0.60 per liter

  • Diesel: around ₱1.35 per liter

  • Kerosene: around ₱1.00 per liter

The rise in local pump prices comes amid a brief uptick in global crude oil and refined product markets, triggered by growing tensions in Iran that could threaten supply from one of OPEC’s largest producers.

Fuel retailers adjust prices weekly, usually every Monday for implementation the following day.

Last week, price hikes were already recorded, with gasoline rising ₱0.30 per liter, diesel ₱0.20, and kerosene ₱0.30, marking multiple consecutive weeks of increases for some fuels.
