The Philippine peso opened at a record low of ₱62.05 to the U.S. dollar on Friday, Aug. 28, according to data from the Bankers Association of the Philippines (BAP).

The latest opening rate surpassed Thursday’s closing level of ₱61.888 per U.S. dollar, marking a new record low for the peso.
