The Nueva Ecija Police have identified a person of interest in connection with the deaths of two individuals found inside a car set on fire in Barangay Sinasajan, Peñaranda, Nueva Ecija, on March 9.

According to a report by Grace Sansano on Damdaming Bayan, the victims were identified as Michael Odchigue, 39, an employee of the Palayan City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO), and a female businesswoman named Regine.

Police Brigadier General Jess Mendez said his operatives are conducting a 24-hour follow-up to hold those responsible accountable. Preliminary investigations suggest the crime may have been financially motivated.

Based on the previous report, residents who discovered the burning vehicle noticed the engine was still running and quickly helped extinguish the flames. Authorities confirmed that the male victim had sustained gunshot wounds. Several bullet casings were recovered at the scene.

Investigators continue to gather evidence as the manhunt for the suspect remains ongoing.
