The highly popular novel “People We Meet on Vacation” by Emily Henry has officially made its way to the screen and is now available for streaming on Netflix.

Netflix released the film adaptation on January 9, 2026, bringing the beloved story to life for fans of the book and new viewers alike.

The movie follows Poppy, a young woman with a passion for travel and adventure, and Alex, who prefers a quiet life at home with a good book. Despite having opposite personalities and living far from each other, the two form a close friendship. For ten years, they make it a tradition to spend one week together every summer, creating memories that shape their relationship.

Netflix first revealed the casting of the adaptation in August 2024. The film stars Emily Bader and Tom Blyth in the lead roles. In the casting announcement video, after Emily Bader was introduced as part of the project, author Emily Henry also appeared, expressing her excitement over the adaptation of her bestselling novel.
