Operatives of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency in Central Visayas (PDEA-7) seized around P54.4 million worth of suspected shabu following the arrest of a target-listed drug personality and three others during a buy-bust operation in Naga City, Cebu, on Tuesday evening, January 13.
The operation was conducted in Sitio Suba, Barangay Tuyan, resulting in the recovery of eight kilograms of suspected shabu packed in eight bundles, along with buy-bust money and other evidence.
PDEA-7 Director Joel Plaza identified the primary suspect as alias "Clifford," 47, a driver and resident of South Poblacion, Naga City. Arrested alongside him were alias "Maricel," 39; alias "Joseph," 52; and alias "Barbara," 29.
Authorities also seized several cellular phones, ATM and identification cards, and a four-wheel motor vehicle believed to have been used in illegal drug activities.
The operation was carried out by the PDEA Cebu Provincial Office and PDEA-7 Intelligence Unit, in coordination with the Naga City Police, PNP Drug Enforcement Group, Cebu Provincial Police Office, Naval Forces Central, and the Coast Guard Central District.
All suspects are now in custody and will face charges for violations of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
