Malacañang extended a public birthday greeting to Vice President Sara Duterte following her recent birthday, with Palace Press Officer and PCO Undersecretary Claire Castro delivering the message during the Palace briefing on Monday, June 1.
Castro presented a past image of the vice president during the briefing, including a reference to Duterte’s previous practice of greeting individuals on their birthdays. She also reiterated that the Palace would extend greetings despite past political differences.
When asked whether Malacañang had a message for the vice president, Castro responded by recalling previous remarks and emphasizing the Palace’s position on extending courtesy.
She added a simple greeting on behalf of the Presidential Communications Office: “Happy birthday VP Sara.”
The Palace statement was presented as a brief gesture of goodwill amid ongoing political discourse between the administration and the Vice President.
