The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) has warned fishermen and coastal communities in Ilocos Norte and Cagayan of possible rocket debris falling into nearby waters on November 30, 2025.

According to the Philippine Space Agency (PhilSA), China is scheduled to launch the Long March 7A rocket from the Wenchang Space Launch Site in Hainan between 8:12 p.m. and 9:34 p.m. Philippine Standard Time.

Parts of the rocket are expected to fall within two designated maritime drop zones. The first drop zone is located about 39 nautical miles from Burgos, Ilocos Norte, and 60 nautical miles from Dalupiri Island in Cagayan. The second drop zone is approximately 69 nautical miles from Santa Ana, Cagayan, and 81 nautical miles from Camiguin Norte.

In response, the Coast Guard District North Eastern Luzon (CGDNELZN) has imposed temporary maritime restrictions in the affected areas. Fishermen and operators of small maritime vessels are advised to avoid the drop zones and keep a safe distance from any suspected debris.

The PCG also reminded the public not to approach or attempt to retrieve any debris and to immediately report any sightings of floating objects or suspicious materials to Coast Guard personnel or local authorities.

The PCG said monitoring operations are ongoing in coordination with other government agencies, following the directive of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., to ensure public safety during the launch activity.
