

A fisherman who went missing for five days was rescued by the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) during maritime patrol and search and rescue operations in the waters off Bajo de Masinloc, Zambales on March 20, 2026.
According to PCG, the 32-year-old fisherman, a resident of Wawanway, Subic, Zambales, was reported missing after his service boat, “Bebelot,” operating under FB Gabriel Geruz 6, failed to return.
The PCG launched search operations after receiving information on the fisherman’s last known location, in coordination with BRP Cape San Agustin (MRRV-4408).
Authorities later spotted the missing boat approximately 78.98 nautical miles west of Capon Grande, Zambales.
The fisherman was rescued at around 4:07 p.m. and was immediately provided medical assistance onboard. His boat was also secured by the responding vessel.
BRP Cabra (MRRV-4409) has since left the area and is heading to Subic, Zambales for the proper turnover of the rescued fisherman.
