The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) rescued seven individuals after a motorbanca reportedly submerged in waters between Barangay Tilmobo, President Carlos P. Garcia (PCPG), Bohol, and Barangay Guadalupe, Maasin City on April 24, 2026.

"In line with the directives of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. to further strengthen maritime safety and enhance Search and Rescue (SAR) operations nationwide, Coast Guard Sub Station Pres Carlos P Garcia (CGSS PCPG) in coordination with Task Force Kalikupan, immediately proceeded to the reported area to conduct SAR operations," the PCG said.

Upon arrival, the SAR team located two motorbancas in the vicinity and conducted rescue operations. Four individuals were transferred to a local government unit (LGU) rescue boat, while three others were safely brought to the shoreline of Barangay Tilmobo.

Authorities said the four rescued passengers, all senior citizens, safely arrived at Pitogo Port and were turned over to the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO) for proper assessment and assistance.
