

The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) reported the recovery of two additional cadavers during underwater operations today, February 18, 2026, in connection with the MV Trisha Kerstin 3 maritime incident.
With the latest recovery, the total number of fatalities has risen to 64, while 293 survivors have been rescued, and 15 individuals remain missing. The PCG clarified that these figures are the result of joint validation efforts involving the Philippine National Police–Scene of the Crime Operatives (PNP-SOCO), the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO), the Coast Guard District Southwestern Mindanao (CGDSWM), and the affected families, who coordinate daily with interagency search and rescue teams.
Authorities continue search and retrieval operations to locate the missing persons and recover additional bodies from the incident site. The Coast Guard reaffirmed its commitment to thorough and coordinated rescue operations, ensuring the safety of survivors and closure for the victims’ families.
