The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) announced on Tuesday that its personnel have retrieved the body of one of the four passengers in a vehicle on Agana Bridge in Tarlac City following its collapse on August 29.

The body was found in the waters off Barangay Pugaro, Dagupan City, Pangasinan, yesterday, August 31, 2026.

The Coast Guard Station Dagupan received a report at 12 noon that day of floating remains, sighted by a motorbanca operator.

The PCG immediately deployed responders to the scene to confirm the report and carry out a recovery operation.

After confirming the sighting, the response team recovered the body, which was brought to Barangay Poblacion Oeste and turned over to Dagupan City Police Station 5 for proper disposition, the PCG said.

On Monday, Tarlac City Mayor Susan Yap confirmed that the body belonged to one of the victims from the vehicle that had plunged into the Tarlac River during the Agana Bridge collapse.

The PCG assured that search and recovery operations for the remaining three are ongoing, with its response teams searching the Tarlac River and areas downstream and coordinating with relevant authorities.
